Unlike the previous In Your House events held by WWE, there were a few notable absences. Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole, Karion Kross, Scarlett, Dakota Kai, and Raquel González had all appeared on the two previous In Your House events but were notably absent this year. González now competes on SmackDown under the name Raquel Rodriguez, while Cole signed with AEW. Gargano, Kross, Scarlett, and Kai were either released or failed to reach an agreement to renew their contracts. However, even without these familiar faces, the current NXT stars put on a fantastic show.

Carmelo Hayes defeated Cameron Grimes at In Your House to recapture the North American Championship he lost at NXT Stand & Deliver. There is a long list of competitors that aim to challenge Hayes and Solo Sikoa is at the front of the line. Sikoa confronted Hayes’ celebration and when Hayes not only refused to give Sikoa is match but jumped him along with Trick Williams and Grayson Waller, Sikoa challenged both Waller and Hayes to a handicap match later in the evening. Rather than facing them alone, Sikoa was aided by Apollo Crews. Crews scored the victory for the pair by getting the three count on Waller. Sikoa now has the momentum to continue to challenge for Hayes’ championship, though he isn’t the only one gunning for it. Nathan Frazer has expressed his interest on social media to step in the ring with Hayes, and there are several others who would love to earn their shot at the gold.
At In Your House, Legado del Fantasma’s Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde lost to Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan. By the stipulation of the tag team match, as the losers, Legado was forced to join D’Angelo’s family and as expected, the union didn’t happen seamlessly. D’Angelo, Donovan, and Lorenzo arrived to the arena with Legado serving them and the tension was clear. D’Angelo announced that Escobar would have his first match as a member of D’Angelo’s family.
D’Angelo was on commentary for Escobar’s match against Nathan Frazer. D’Angelo tried to coach Escobar through the match and the distaste Escobar had for the circumstances was clear. When Escobar was given a crowbar to use against Frazer, he refused, and the distraction was enough to result in Frazer winning the match. It’s expected that these new circumstances would not favor Legado, but it is possible that over time, Legado will tear apart D’Angelo’s family from the inside now that they have been brought into the fold.
Julius and Brutus Creed finally captured the Tag Team Championship after their unlucky draw in the Gauntlet for the vacated NXT Tag Team Championship several weeks back. They redeemed their loss to Pretty Deadly in the Gauntlet by defeating them at In Your House. As tension between the Creeds and Roderick Strong continues to boil, Edris Enofé and Malik Blade posed a challenge the Creeds happily accepted for next week. Despite being champions, the Creeds’ biggest obstacle to overcome, will be the tension between themselves and Strong.
After losing their NXT Tag Team Championship to the Creed Brothers at In Your House, Elton Prince and Kit Wilson have continued their reign of terror backstage and interrupted a class photo to welcome the newest recruit to Andre Chase University. Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward were then expected to take on Pretty Deadly in a tag team match, and Pretty Deadly warned the men to watch their backs. Hayward was attacked backstage forcing Chase to enter the match alone. Pretty Deadly scored the victory despite the outside aid other members of Chase U tried to provide. However, Chase and Hayward may not be done with Pretty Deadly just yet, and the Brits might be the ones watching their backs in the coming weeks.
It seems that Wendy Choo also has her next feud laid out before her and her Home Alone-style pranks will serve her well once again. After losing her championship match against Mandy Rose at In Your House, Choo’s interview was interrupted by a frustrated Tiffany Straton after her loss to Roxanne Perez in the finals of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Perez’s victory earned her a future Women’s Championship match, quickly putting her on Rose’s radar. Toxic Attraction spoiled Perez’s celebration and a brawl would break out between Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne, Rose, Perez, Cora Jade, and Indi Hartwell. A six-woman tag team match has been set for next week and if Perez’s sights are on Rose’s title, it’s possible Jade and Hartwell will set their sights on the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Bron Breakker retained his NXT Championship against Joe Gacy, appearing to have finally put an end to their mind-game-infused feud. Breakker searched for his next challenger which came in the form of Apollo Crews. Crews has been a competitor on WWE’s main roster since 2016 after a short stint in NXT. Crews mentioned that in his short tenure in the developmental brand, he was never able to capture the NXT Championship and looks to rewrite history. This isn’t the first time Breakker has been challenged by a main roster star, as Breakker was engaged in a feud with Dolph Ziggler several months ago. Breakker dropped his NXT Championship to Ziggler before reclaiming it.
Gacy on the other hand has shifted his focus from chasing championships. Instead, he revealed that his two hooded druids would make their in-ring debuts next week. For now, it seems Gacy’s focus will be on the Druids and encouraging them to pursue the NXT Tag Team Championship currently held by the Creed Brothers. In time, Gacy may reenter the hunt for the NXT Championship or pursue the North American Championship.
NXT In Your House and previous episodes of NXT are now streaming on Peacock.
